Pedestrian Dies After Crash - Ultimo 12 May

An elderly woman has died following a crash in Sydney's CBD this morning.

Shortly after 9am today (Tuesday 12 May 2026), emergency services were called to Harris Street, Ultimo, following reports of a crash.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and were told a pedestrian had been struck by a truck.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the woman; however, she died at the scene.

She is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be aged in her 80s.

The driver of the truck - a man aged in his 40s - was not injured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police have established a crime scene which will be forensically examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Harris Street, Ultimo, is currently closed between William Henry Street and Mary Ann Street, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
