Pedestrian dies in Newborough

Police are investigating after a pedestrian died in Newborough last night (26 January).

It appears the pedestrian was lying on Monash Road when struck by a vehicle at 11.40pm.

Police and paramedics performed CPR on the pedestrian however, the 39-year-old man from Newborough died at the scene.

The driver, a 59-year-old man from Yallourn North, stopped to render assistance and was not injured.
