Pedestrian hit by bus, NSW

A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Dee Why yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 8.50pm today, emergency services were called to Pittwater Road, near Howard Avenue, following reports a pedestrian had been knocked over by a bus.

On arrival officers located a 76-year-old man unconscious on the road being assisted by members of the public.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.

He has regained consciousness and is now believed to be in a stable condition.

The driver of the bus was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine.

Inquiries into the crash are being conducted by police from Northern Beaches Local Area Command.
