Pedestrian hit by car in Freshwater

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Sydney’s northern beaches, NSW Police say.

Around 7am tomorrow, emergency services were called to Harbord Road, near Brighton Street, Freshwater after reports a woman was hit by a vehicle.

The 65-year-old woman sustained a fractured leg and a suspected fractured skull. She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Mazda, a woman aged in her 50s, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers from Northern Beaches LAC attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
