Pedestrian hit by car in Killara

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Sydney’s north shore, NSW Police say.

Shortly before 3pm today, emergency services were called to Werona Ave, Killara after reports a woman was hit by a vehicle.

The injured woman, aged 78, sustained a head injury and fractures.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, a woman aged in her 60s was not injured.

Officers from Ku-ring-gai Local Area Command, with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
