Pedestrian hit by car - Thornleigh

A pedestrian has been critically injured after being hit by a car on the Upper North Shore tonight.

About 6pm (Friday 31 July 2020), emergency services were called to Sefton Road, near the intersection of Adamson Avenue, Thornleigh, after reports a pedestrian had been hit.

Officers from Ku-ring-gai Police Area Command attended and found a pedestrian seriously injured. The 63-year-old woman was airlifted to Royal North Shore hospital in a critical condition.

Police have been told that the woman was crossing the road with the aid of a walking frame when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Magna.

The Mitsubishi driver, a 76-year-old woman, was taken to Hornsby Hospital to undergo mandatory testing.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
