Pedestrian Killed, Rider Arrested in Toongabbie Crash

A pedestrian has died, and a rider has been arrested following a crash in Sydney's west overnight.

About 9.50pm Wednesday 22 October 2025, emergency services were called to Settlers Walk, near Greenmeadows Crescent, Toongabbie, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a E-bike.

On arrival, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command were told the rider had allegedly left the scene following the crash.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrian – a 65-year-old man – before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have established a crime scene to be forensically examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Police have since been told the 65-year-old died Thursday 23 October 2025.

Following inquiries, the alleged rider – a 45-year-old man – was arrested in Seven Hills, about 2.45pm yesterday (Thursday 23 October 2025).

He was taken to Blacktown Police Station; however, he has since been released without charge pending further inquiries.
