A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Fitzroy North this evening.
Emergency services were called to the scene, at the intersection of Newry and Nicholson streets, following reports of the collision about 7.15pm.
Sadly the woman, believed to beaged in her 30s, died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and provided immediate assistance. She has spoken with police and is not expected to be charged in relation to the incident.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
