Premier Peter Gutwein's extraordinary change of heart over the proposed sale of key Hydro asset Momentum Energy shows Tasmanians can't believe a word he says.
Shadow Minister for Energy David O'Byrne said the Premier lacks integrity.
"In Parliament this week, Peter Gutwein refused to rule out selling Momentum but today after calling an early election, the Premier seems to have had a change of heart," Mr O'Byrne said.
"For the Premier to say one thing before the election and another thing after he calls it is a warning sign to Tasmanians that he can't be trusted.
"He is refusing to intervene to save the 50 jobs being cut from Hydro and is trying to con Tasmanians into thinking they will get cheaper energy prices, when that is clearly not true.
"The only plan Peter Gutwein has is a privatisation plan which will result in mass job losses and higher energy prices for Tasmanians."
