Photographic exhibition showcases women's inner beauty

A photographic exhibition showcasing women's inner beauty will be on display at Venue 114 next month as part of International Women's Day celebrations.

The 21 Days of Real Beauty' exhibition features portraits of 21 women and aims to celebrate what makes women unique, highlight personal growth and encourage self-acceptance.

It will be displayed in Venue 114's courtyard at the In Conversation luncheon on Friday March 6, celebrating International Women's Day.

The exhibition is the creation of Sunshine Coast portrait photographer Megan Gill.

"I wanted more women to feel comfortable with having their portrait taken," Ms Gill said.

"To face up to their insecurities and accept themselves for the imperfectly perfect beings that we are. It's been my mission to create photographs which capture their true inner beauty."

Ms Gill said she had photographed around 60 women since launching the 21 Days of Real Beauty' project three years ago.

"It is so much more than just a photo session – it is a chance to change the way you see yourself."

Sunshine Coast women who feature in the exhibition include vocal trio The Kitty Kats and 2020 Telstra Business Woman of the year finalist and Sunshine Coast Council executive, Jeanette Allom-Hill.

Accomplished journalist and TV presenter, Melissa Doyle AM will speak at the In Conversation event about her career highlights and the challenge of juggling many priorities. Guests will also be entertained by Bob Downe – one of Australia's most loved and enduring comedy characters.

Tickets are $120. Tables of eight are $110 per person. To book visit: venue114.com.au or call 5413 1400.
