The Territory Labor Government is improving the outcomes for children and families across the Territory.

Victim survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence will have access to safe, secure and affordable housing through a new pilot program.

The Domestic Family Sexual Violence (DFSV) Housing Pathways Grant will fund community housing providers in Darwin and Alice Springs to head lease properties and sub-lease them to DFSV victim survivors.

The $2.125 million program has been funded through the National Partnership Agreement on DFSV and will provide up to 17 properties.

The program will support victims and survivors who are homeless, are at risk of homelessness or have significant barriers to entering the private rental market.

The Housing Pathways Grant will be delivered in Alice Springs by Central Australian Affordable Housing Company in partnership with Women's Safety Service of Central Australia, and in Darwin by Community Housing Limited in partnership with Dawn House.

Tenants will receive intensive case management and wrap around support and will also be assisted to plan their transition out of the program into long term secure housing.

The program will also assist in freeing up space in crisis accommodation for victim survivors at immediate risk.
