Plan to extradite woman after man stabbed in Queanbeyan

Police are seeking to extradite a woman from the ACT after a man was allegedly stabbed with scissors at Queanbeyan this morning, NSW Police say.

Police from Monaro Local Area Command were alerted after a 40-year-old man arrived at Queanbeyan District Hospital seeking treatment after an artery was severed in his left forearm about 11am today.

The man was transferred to Canberra Hospital where he has undergone surgery. He is reported to be in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene at a home in John Bull Street, Queanbeyan; however, there was no one at the premises.

A short time later they were alerted that a woman had arrived at Canberra Hospital.

That woman was arrested by ACT Police and is being held pending an application for extradition by NSW Police.

Police will be alleging the 41-year-old woman stabbed the man with a pair of scissors in what is believed to be a domestic-violence related fight.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
