The Wagga Wagga Tennis International is underway at the Jim Elphick Tennis Centre and is free for spectators to attend.
The city is hosting back-to-back Women's 35 International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour tournaments which commenced on Sunday 7 September and will run through to Sunday 21 September 2025.
Manager Wagga Leisure Marc Geppert said this is a great opportunity for the community to see pro-level tennis here in Wagga Wagga.
"The Wagga Wagga Tennis International is bringing Australian and international female players to Wagga Wagga who are competing for prize money and world ranking points," Mr Geppert said.
"This is the first time the city has hosted a pro-level tennis event, which has been made possible through the recent redevelopment of the Jim Elphick Tennis Centre.
"The tournament is free for spectators to attend, so its accessible for everyone to be able to come and see some world-class tennis.
"Some visitors have mentioned how hard the players hit the ball at this level, you can really get a feel for the game when you are so close to the action."

Players taking part in the Wagga Wagga Tennis International are representing Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Great Britain, USA, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and India, in both singles and doubles.
Gates open at 8am, with play commencing from 10am each day of the tournament, weather permitting.
"Unfortunately, we had a lengthy delay in play on Wednesday due to the rain, but we expect play to be fairly uninterrupted for the rest of the tournament," Marc Geppert said.
"If the weather is good, come down to the Jim Elphick Tennis Centre as it's likely matches will be taking place."
The Wagga Wagga Tennis International finishes on Sunday 21 September 2025.
Information about the tournament can be found via Tennis NSW's website.
