
Playford Library have teamed up with many friends to host the free event from 1pm-4pm at the Playford Function Centre and this year, more than 35 local business stallholders coupled with a stellar line-up of authors will feature at the event.
The community are encouraged to come along and grab a tote bag to fill with a bunch of new books, while attendees can also enjoy a specialty coffee menu, including the viral Dubai pistachio hot chocolate and perfect treats from local makers.
Attendees will also be able to browse through more than just literature with an array of stallholders offering lots of goodies to take home.
So, whether you're a reader, a writer, or simply love a slow Sunday surrounded by creativity, this is the perfect way to spend your afternoon. Stay tuned for the announcement of local authors and creatives who will be at the event.
Mayor Glenn Docherty said providing a space for the community to immerse in conversation with outstanding authors has the potential to inspire budding authors, spark new interest for a career change or ignite a new hobby.
"The event is a platform for so many people in our community to come together. It has a little bit of everything and provides an opportunity for Playford's aspiring writers to learn and listen from prominent names within the industry," Mayor Docherty said.
"Council proudly hosts a diverse range of events across our city, this is just one of the ways we are helping our community to connect and find opportunities to achieve their personal goals.
"We have so many fantastic aspiring authors in Playford and this is a unique chance to get alongside like-minded people, get inspired and find books that you may not find in your in your local bookstore."
