PNG Girl Comes to Australia for Life Changing Surgery

18 yo PNG girl Vascolynna AGAMO arrives in Brisbane Tuesday 26 Feb, with her father and a PNG doctor to accompany them, for maxio facial surgery to correct a fused jaw on Saturday 2/3/19 , with all hospital services provided pro bono by the Wesley hospital Auchenflower, all medical staff providing services for free and all travel and other costs met by Rotary clubs.

She had surgery at age 3 in Brisbane previously and this was on the front page of the Courier Mail in 2003

As Vascolynna has aged her jaw has fused again to a point where this surgery is viewed as life saving. This is a great story of Rotary and the Australian people coming to the aid of a PNG national girl to ensure she has a quality of life that isn't always guaranteed the way it is in Australia.
