Point Cook hit-run leaves woman seriously injured

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a hit-run collision that occurred in Point Cook, late on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to reports of a two-car collision on Dunnings Road just after 11pm on 26 May.

Investigators have been told a Purple Holden Commodore travelling west on Dunnings Road, ran a red light at the intersection of Dunnings Road and Boardwalk Boulevard.

The Holden collided with another vehicle, a grey Volkswagen Golf travelling south on Boardwalk boulevard.

It's alleged the driver of the Holden, failed to stop fleeing the scene on foot. The passenger remained at the scene.

Police located and arrested the driver of the Holden a short time later at his address.

Both the driver and passenger in the Holden were un-injured.

A 25-year-old Point Cook man is now assisting Police with their enquiries.

A 53-year-old Point Cook woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries.

Investigations in relation to the incident remain ongoing.

Investigators are asking anyone that may have been travelling along Dunnings Road prior to the collision and observed the purple Holden Commodore is urged to come forward.
