Police appeal after assault - Granville

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into an aggravated break and enter that occurred in Granville yesterday.

About 4.10am (Thursday 19 September), a man entered a home on Bennalong Street and entered the bedroom where a couple were sleeping.

The woman woke to find a man allegedly lying on top of her. She pushed him off and screamed, and the man ran from the scene. The woman's husband chased the man before losing sight of him running in the direction of William Street. The man is also alleged to have taken a wallet from the home.

About 5.20 am the same morning, police allege the man made several of purchases using the husband's bank card at Granville Railway Station.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, detectives are now releasing CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Asian appearance, with a thin build.
