Police appeal after break-in at Tamworth

Police are appealing for public assistance following a break and enter and pursuit in the state's northeast overnight.

Between 11.30pm Sunday (28 February 2022) and 3.30am on Monday (1 March 2022), a group of people forced entry into a home on Oak Street, Tamworth.

Items were stolen from the home including four rifles, a shotgun, ammunition, backpacks, wallets and keys to a Blue Mazda utility.

Occupants of the home were asleep at the time and were not injured.

The group fled in the Mazda, before a pursuit was initiated a short time later on Macgregor Street, Coledale. It was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

The Mazda was involved in a number of pursuits throughout Tamworth.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information about the incident or who has dashcam vision from the area is urged to contact police.
