Police appeal after carjacking - Claymore

Police are appealing for public assistance following a carjacking in Sydney's south-west earlier today.

About 4.10am (Wednesday 19 August 2020), a 23-year-old man was sitting in a grey Nissan Tiida sedan in the shopping centre on Dobell Road, Claymore, when he was approached by two men, who were armed with a knife and a hammer.

Police have been told one of the men tapped on the window of the car and threatened him with a hammer.

The man complied with their demands and exited his car.

The armed men drove off in the man's car and he last saw the car heading towards Bagdally Road.

The man managed to contact police. He was shaken but not hurt during the incident.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the carjacking.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage to come forward.

Police would also like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, wearing a blue hoody, black bandanna covering face and work boots.

The second man is also described as being of Caucasian appearance, wearing a black hoody, black bandanna and work boots.
