Police appeal after hit and run - South Granville

Police are appealing for the public's help after a cyclist was struck by a car in western Sydney this morning.

About 4.50am (Monday 24 February 2020), police attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to Wellington Road, South Granville, following reports a car had hit a cyclist and driven off.

Police have been told the 64-year-old male cyclist was travelling in an easterly direction along Wellington Road when a car struck the bicycle from behind, pushing him into the truck in front.

The truck driver stopped to check on the man, however the car continued without stopping.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time or have dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
