Police appeal after scooter rider injured in crash - Redfern

Police are appealing for public assistance following a crash in Redfern at the weekend.

About 11.30am on Saturday (2 May 2020), emergency services were called to the intersection of Cleveland and Elizabeth Streets, after a scooter and a white Hyundai Accent collided.

The 69-year-old scooter rider was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital suffering leg injuries. He has since undergone surgery for a broken hip and remains in a stable condition.

The 39-year-old Hyundai driver was uninjured and was breath tested with a negative result.

Officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
