Police appeal after woman indecently assaulted in Albury

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was indecently assaulted in Albury yesterday, NSW Police say.

Police were told about 4.30pm today, a man approached a 20-year-old woman who was walking alone on a track between Kiewa and Jones Streets.

The man stopped in front of the woman and refused to let her pass before indecently assaulting her.

The woman was able to break free and left the scene before contacting police.

Officers from Albury Local Area Command commenced investigations into the incident.

Investigators would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being about 50 to 70 years old, of Caucasian appearance, about 175-180cm tall with a skinny build. He was clean shaven, had grey hair and squinty eyes.

The man was last seen wearing a black beanie, navy blue jacket and long dark-coloured pants.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Albury police or Crime Stoppers.
