Police appeal for assistance after dog injured during Ringwood burglary

Police are seeking public assistance after a dog was attacked during a burglary in Ringwood last Tuesday 14 March, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told two men gained entry into a Wingrove Place residence about 12.40pm and stole a rolling pin.

The pair then scaled the rear fence into the backyard of a neighbouring residence where they were confronted by a 6-year-old German Sheppard.

The burglars then attacked the dog with a rolling pin.

Keira received a laceration above her left eye which required vetinary care.

Maroondah Crime Investigation Unit detectives believe the same burglars may also be responsible for two other burglaries that occurred earlier that day on Old Lilydale Road.

The men are perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, aged between 16 and 24-years-old.

One of the men is believed to have dark brown hair with a skinny build and the other man blonde hair with a medium build.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
