Police appeal for information after sexual assault - Woolloomooloo

Police have released CCTV vision and are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a sexual assault at Woolloomooloo at the weekend

Just after 1.30am on Saturday (26 October 2019), a 22-year-old woman left licensed premises on Oxford Street, Surry Hills, after being separated from friends.

While waiting outside, she was approached by a man and had a short conversation before walking off together. The woman alleges that she was sexually assaulted by the man in Turner Lane.

The woman contacted a friend before presenting to Sutherland Hospital and reporting the incident.

Local police attended and spoke with the woman and detectives from Kings Cross Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

Investigators have now released the image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, about 170cm tall, with a thin build, and was wearing a white t-shirt, dark-coloured long pants, and spectacles.
