Police Appeal for Leads in Lidcombe Assault

Police are appealing for information following a serious assault at Lidcombe Railway Station yesterday.

About 5:35pm yesterday (Thursday 19 June 2025), police were told a 19-year-old man was walking up the stairs to platform one when an unknown man has made threats towards the 19-year-old before assaulting him.

During the assault the 19-year-old man was pushed down a flight of stairs before the unknown man left the scene.

Police attended the railway station a short time later and a Sydney Trains paramedic treated the man for his injuries. He was later taken to hospital for further treatment.

Following the incident police are hoping to speak with a man who may be able to assist police with their investigations.

The man is described as Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, long black hair in a ponytail, wearing a black cap, black jacket, black tracksuit pants and red shoes.
