Police appeal for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in Echuca

Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witness following an aggravated burglary in Echuca on Sunday, Victoria Police say.

It is believed an unknown offender gained entry to an Anderson Road home about 5.20am on 10 December.

Once inside, the offender has stolen Christmas gifts from underneath the Christmas tree.

The offender has then left the home and the victim noticed their silhouette in the neighbour’s rear yard carrying a disposable shopping bag.

The victim got into his car and followed a small red Hyundai Excel with a distinctive flower sticker on the rear as it left the court and obtained a registration number.

Police executed a search warrant at an Ogilvie address in Echuca an arrested a 34-year-old female. She was released pending further enquiries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the red Hyundai between 5am and 6am or has located various discarded Christmas presents.

Anyone who has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
