Police appeal to find elderly woman missing from Moorebank

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly woman last seen in Sydney's south-west.

Poliana Samonata, aged 65, left her home in Moorebank about 8.00am yesterday (Thursday 10 June 2021), telling family members she was going shopping at the nearby Moorebank Shopping Centre.

This shopping trip to Moorebank was a regular occurrence for Poliana, and is only a 7-10 minute walk away from her home.

When she failed to return home or make contact with family members, her disappearance was reported to officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command, who commenced an investigation.

Poliana is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, 160cm tall, large build and dark complexion, with long dark hair. She was wearing a long blue and black woollen coat and carry a small light brown shoulder bag. She walks with the aid of a walking stick.

Her disappearance is considered out of character, and both family and police hold concerns for her welfare.

Anyone with information about Poliana Samoata's disappearance is urged to contact Liverpool Police Station or Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
