Police appeal to locate escapee and wanted man - Westmead

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman who escaped from Corrective Services NSW custody, and a wanted man she is believed to be with, in Sydney's west today.

Officers Parramatta Police Area Command were notified just after 10.30am (Wednesday 9 December 2020), when Elika Asasi, aged 27, escaped from custody while at Westmead Hospital.

It's believed Elika entered a vehicle, described as a silver Kia Sorrento, after her escape with 31-year-old man Christopher Szenczy, who is known to her.

Christopher Szenczy is wanted on an outstanding warrant for drug and property related offences.

The Kia has significant damage to the driver and back right-side doors and has NSW registration plates CZ83LS. The vehicle was last seen travelling along Hawkesbury Road just after 10.35am.

Eliza is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 165cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair.

She was last seen wearing prison greens and handcuffs at the front. It's not known whether she has since changed clothes.

Christopher is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of solid build, with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a navy-blue t-shirt and shorts, with joggers and wearing black sunglasses.

The pair are believed to have links in the Penrith, Glenmore Park, Beverley Hills, Revesby, and Port Macquarie areas.

A search to locate Elika and Christopher is continuing, and police are urging anyone with information about their whereabouts to come forward.

Police are warning members of the public not to approach the pair, but to instead call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
