Police appeal to locate missing elderly woman - Ponds

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly woman missing from Sydney's north-west.

Elaine McMurray, aged 80, was last seen at a care facility on Shearwater Glade, The Ponds, about 9am today (Thursday 15 September 2022).

When she could not be located, officers from Riverstone Police Area Command were notified this afternoon and immediately commenced a search to locate her.

A number of police resources including PolAir are assisting in the search.

There are serious concerns for her welfare due to her living with dementia.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, of medium build, with short dark hair.

Elaine was wearing a beige coloured jumper and black pants.

She is known to frequent the Kings Langley and Stanhope Garden areas and is believed to be on foot.

Anyone who may have seen Elaine, or has knowledge of her whereabouts, is urged to contact Riverstone Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
