Police appeal to locate missing man at Carroll

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the state's north-west.

Ian Roy Smyth, aged 48, was last seen leaving a house in Carroll, about 20km east of Gunnedah, on Monday 27 September 2021.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were notified Ian was missing a short time later and commenced inquiries to locate him.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare due to a medical condition requiring treatment.

Ian is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build with brown hair and green/hazel eyes.

Ian was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, dark blue and maroon striped long-sleeved shirt, black tracksuit pants and dark shoes. He has collar length brown/grey hair with a moustache and beard.

He is known to frequent Carroll and surrounding areas.
