Police Appeal: Witness Needed in Gold Coast Child Abuse Case

Detectives from Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit, investigating four complaints of indecent treatment of a child at Gold Coast shopping centres, have released vision of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations.

The incidents of indecent and anti-social behaviour occurred between September and November this year with three initial incidents occurring at Harbour Town Shopping Centre, Biggera Waters on September 7, 29 and October 12.

A further incident of a similar nature was reported at Ashmore City Shopping Centre on November 26.

The man is described as aged between mid-50s and 70 years old, Caucasian in appearance with a proportionate to large build and has grey hair. The man who may be able to assist with enquiries wears a distinctive brown coloured leather wristwatch with circular face and beige sandshoes with no laces.

The man did not physically approach any of the four young girls subject of these reports.

Police are appealing for anyone who recognises the man to immediately contact them and anyone with further information or matters of interest in relation to this investigation, to come forward.
