Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Moorabbin teen Chris Lautenbach.
The 17-year-old was last seen leaving a house on Fiddes Street at about 8am yesterday.
It is believed he was heading to catch a train to Mentone.
Police and family have concerns for his welfare as his disappearance is out of character.
Police have released an image of him in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.
He was last seen wearing a light blue school shirt, navy blue shorts, grey jumper, runners and carrying a black backpack.
