Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Mernda on 13 July, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a man was in his vehicle in traffic at the intersection of Bridge Inn Road and Plenty Road about 10.15am
A male passenger in a white Toyota Hilux utility got out and approached the victim and threatened him with an axe.
The victim, a 45-year-old Melbourne man drove off and was uninjured.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or who has dash-cam footage of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
