Police are responding to fatal collision at Lang Lang

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Lang Lang this evening.

Investigators have been told a white Nissan Patrol was seen travelling on the wrong side of the South Gippsland Highway about 6.45pm.

The Patrol then collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car, believed to a man aged in his 30-40s, died at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, believed to be a man in his 20-30s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit are headed to the scene and wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or with dashcam footage of the crash or the Nissan Patrol prior to the collision.
