Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Newham this evening.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a car and a truck near the intersection of Egans Lane and Three Chain Road about 7.20pm.
The driver of the truck, who is yet-to-be formally identified, died at the scene.
Their passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the car is assisting police with their enquiries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are en route to the scene.
Three Chain Road will remain closed, and detours are in place.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and an investigation is ongoing.
