Police are responding to fatal collision in Pakenham

Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision in Pakenham this morning.

It's understood a white Toyota van collided head on with a silver Mitsubishi utility on Pakenham Road about 6.30am.

Emergency services responded and worked on the driver of the Toyota, a yet to formally identified man, but he sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 45-year-old Noble Park man, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cardinia Highway Patrol officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and it remains ongoing.
