Police are responding to fatal collision in Carnegie

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Carnegie this morning.

It's understood a female pedestrian was crossing Dandenong Road, at the intersection of Koornang Road, when she was hit by a car about 9.15am.

The woman, who yet to be formally identified, was transported to hospital but sadly died.

The driver of the car, a 33-year-old Williams Landing woman, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.
