Police are responding to fatal crash at Kadina, South Australia

Major Crash officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash at Kadina early this morning.

About 1.30am Friday 13 November emergency services were called when the passenger of a car that had been involved in a crash knocked on a door for assistance. The passenger, a 15-year-old local boy, had walked over a kilometer to seek help.

He directed emergency services to the scene of the crash, which was on a Drain Road near the corner of Ellis Road. He stated the red Holden sedan had been travelling north when it left the road and rolled in to a paddock.

When emergency services arrived at the scene, sadly they located the driver of the car, a 16-year-old local boy deceased. The passenger was taken to the Wallaroo Hospital for treatment.

About 5.15am Major Crash Investigators arrived at the scene. The public are advised to please avoid the area.

The teen's death takes the total lives lost on the States roads this year to 77, compared to 96 at the same time last year.
