Police are investigating a single vehicle fatal crash in King Valley last night.
The car was travelling on Wangaratta-Whitfield Road just before 10.30pm.
It's believed the vehicle has crossed the north traffic lane and left the carriageway onto the grass verge before hitting a tree.
The male driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
No one else was in the vehicle and the exact cause is being investigated.
