The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash at Bajool, about 30km south of Rockhampton, last night, 26 February.
Around 8.20pm, emergency services were notified of a two-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway near the intersection with Oaky Creek Road.
Initial investigations indicate an orange Holden Colorado utility and a white Holden Rodeo utility collided head-on.
The 63-year-old Paget man driving the Rodeo was declared deceased at the scene.
The 36-year-old male driver of the Colorado and his 33-year-old female passenger received minor injuries and were transported to Rockhampton Hospital.
The highway was closed in both directions for about six hours while examinations were conducted at the scene.
There is no further information available at this time.
Anyone with dashcam footage or who may have seen the vehicles just prior to the crash are urged to come forward.
