Police are responding to fatal crash, Garbutt

A 28-year-old male motorcyclist has died following a traffic crash in Garbutt this morning.

Initial investigations indicate the motorcycle was travelling inbound on Woolcock Street at approximately 6.20am when it has collided with a stationary Great Wall utility at the intersection of Langton Street.

The 28-year-old Black River man was transported to hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

A 60-year-old West End man, the driver and sole occupant of the utility, was not physically injured.

Townsville police urge anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area at the time to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
