A woman has died and an infant hospitalised following a crash in the state's south today.
Just after 9:30am today (Tuesday 2 December 2025), emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Gundagai, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and found a white SUV had veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver – a woman believed to be aged in her 30s – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.
An infant - who was the sole passenger of the SUV - was also treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
