Police are responding to fatal crash - Kumarina

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Kumarina, Tuesday 30 March 2021.

About 7:40pm, a Prime Mover towing three trailers was travelling in a Northerly direction on Great Northern Highway, Kumarina, approximately 40 kms south of the Kumarina Roadhouse.

The Prime Mover has moved to the left gravel shoulder of the roadway to allow approaching road trains to pass. The rear trailer has jack knifed, causing the driver to lose control of the Prime Mover, sliding across into the south bound lane colliding with a Isuzu D-Max.

The 61-year-old male driver of the Isuzu D-Max died at the scene.

Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au. Police are also wanting to identify and speak to Road Train drivers in that area at the time of the crash.
