Police are responding to fatal crash near Campbelltown

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Sydney's south west yesterday.

Just after 8pm (Wednesday 27 July 2022), emergency services were called to Appin Road, Gilead, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command found a car had crashed into a tree.

Police, with assistance from an off-duty nurse, performed CPR on the driver – a 46-year-old man and the sole occupant of the vehicle – until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived; however he could not be revived.

Officers established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
