Police are responding to serious crash at West Hindmarsh 9 April, South Australia

A man has been arrested after he allegedly ran from the scene of a crash on South Road at West Hindmarsh earlier this afternoon.

About 1.30pm on Friday 9 April, police and emergency services were called to South Road after reports the driver of a Holden sedan travelling north, lost control of the car and careered onto the other side of the road and crashed into a Toyota Prado causing it to land on its side.

The occupants in the Toyota, two adults and two children, were taken by ambulance to Flinders Medical Centre where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Holden ran from the scene, and he was tracked to Hardys Road at Torrensville where he was arrested without incident by Special Task and Rescue (STAR) Group.

A 30-year-old man from Kilkenny, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. He is expected to be charged with serous driving offences at a later time.
