Police arrest eight after drug crop located

Police have uncovered a large cannabis crop at Buckland Park this morning.

Just before 8am on Tuesday 29 December, Northern District Detectives conducted a search of a property on Nemesis Court at Buckland Park. On arrival police could see people running from the property.

Police quickly set up cordons and eight people were subsequently arrested.

A search of the property located a significant amount of cannabis plants of varying sizes, growing in glasshouses and some being grown hydroponically. There was also a large amount of dried cannabis located and seized.

The arrested people are:

A 50-year-old man from Burton

A 49-year-old woman from Mansfield Park

A 54-year-old woman from an unknown address

A 66-year-old woman from an unknown address

A 28-year-old man from an unknown address

A 39-year-old man from an unknown address

A 52-year-old man from an unknown address

A 45-year-old man from an unknown address

Detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch and Northern Districts Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the matter.
