Eight people were arrested at a protest at North Adelaide this morning.
Police were called to the golf course redevelopment site on War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide, about 6.45am on Friday, 15 May, by reports of trespassers on site.
Four people found inside the site were arrested. A 26-year-old man from Kensington Gardens, a 34-year-old person from Ferryden Park, a 34-year-old woman from Modbury, and a 52-year-old woman from Happy Valley were all charged with being unlawfully on premises.
A 27-year-old woman, who had allegedly chained herself to the outside of the site, was also arrested and charged with obstructing a public place and resisting arrest.
A further three women were arrested about 9.30am after entering the site. A 43-year-old woman from Semaphore Park, a 67-year-old woman from Mile End, and a 78-year-old woman from Adelaide were all charged with being unlawfully on premises.
All arrested were bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at later dates.
There were no injuries reported during the protest activity. The Semaphore Park woman was taken to hospital by ambulance for assessment only.
Police will maintain a presence in and around the golf course redevelopment site to deter unlawful activity.
Anyone participating in a protest must do so lawfully and peacefully. Those who engage in disruptive or unlawful behaviour is likely to face enforcement action.
