A man has been arrested following an investigation into a domestic violence incident in the Upper Spencer Gulf.
On Tuesday 8 September, Eyre and Western police received reports that a woman had been subjected to serious domestic violence offending.
Police immediately commenced an investigation and conducted extensive enquiries to locate the suspect. The woman was provided support and assistance from specialist Family Violence Intervention Officers.
Just before 3pm on Wednesday 9 September, police spotted the alleged suspect, who fled on foot. Following a search of the area, officers located him hiding inside a nearby residential premises after he allegedly entered without permission. He was arrested without incident.
The 32-year-old Upper Spencer Gulf man was charged with numerous offences including unlawful detention, aggravated assault, breaching an intervention order, property damage, serious criminal trespass and distributing an invasive image of a person. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Whyalla Magistrates Court on Thursday 10 September.
