The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 28-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence aggravated assault that occurred in Araluen yesterday evening.
Around 5:55pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports that an adult male was allegedly assaulting a female believed to be known to him along Larapinta Drive.
It is alleged the offender struck the female multiple times to the face with a wooden object, resulting in a laceration to her eyebrow and other facial injuries. The victim was holding an infant at the time of the assault who was not injured during the incident.
Police and St John Ambulance attended, and the victim was conveyed to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A 28-year-old male was arrested at the scene with charges expected to follow.
