Police arrest man after attacking police officers at Narromine

A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting two police officers at Narromine Police Station yesterday.

About 4.45pm on Thursday (30 August 2019), a 33-year-old Narromine man – wanted in relation to an alleged intimidation and breach of bail – attended the station to report on bail.

He was arrested and taken into police custody.

A short time later, the man became aggressive, kicking his cell door.

In the process of transferring the man to Dubbo Police Station, it is alleged he started to aggressively kick while refusing to enter the vehicle. He connected with the chest and forearm of a Leading Senior Constable and the hand of a Constable.

The man was eventually conveyed to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault police, intimidation and breach bail.

He was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Friday 30 August 2019).

The Leading Senior Constable sustained scratches to his forearm and bruising to his chest. The female Constable sustained bruising and slight swelling to her left hand.
